Over the past ten years, the dialogue between the anti-trafficking system and the asylum system in Italy has taken on an increasingly central role in the identification and protection of survivors of trafficking and other forms of severe exploitation. Territorial Commissions, organizations within the anti-trafficking system, UNHCR, and other institutional and civil society actors have developed shared practices, operational tools, and referral pathways that have helped strengthen the identification of vulnerabilities and effective access to international and social protection. In particular, organizations within the anti-trafficking system have played a fundamental role in bringing to light situations of trafficking and severe exploitation that often initially remained invisible or unrecognized within asylum procedures.

Drawing on its experience in early identification, survivor support, and the development of territorial and institutional protection networks, BeFree Cooperativa Sociale has actively contributed to this process. Building on the National Protocol and local practices, the webinar will explore key achievements, remaining challenges, and the impact of the new European Pact on Migration and Asylum on the identification, assistance, and protection of trafficking survivors within asylum procedures.

*The presentation is held in English with the possibility to activate live caption in French, Spanish, German, Italian and English.

This webinar is organized within the framework of the EU-funded project REACH(Resilience through Enhanced Access to Comprehensive Help). REACH responds to the need for support and protection for victims/survivors of sexual violence in the context of exploitation and human trafficking by bridging the gap between victims/survivors and support services.
